This is a yearly run organized by HVCC graduate Olya Prevo-White, our first female PV installer graduate who is now a solar energy project manager at C.T. Male Associates.
SASHA’S SUPERHERO RUN 5K & KIDS RUN
Sasha’s Superhero Run is a 5K run/walk and a kids run held in Halfmoon, NY. The race was organized by the family and friends of a local boy, Sasha, who passed away unexpectedly as a baby on Christmas Eve in 2016. The superhero theme of the event was adopted to honor parents whose babies and children passed before their time, as it takes superhuman strengths to go on after a child dies. This event helps families who have experienced the loss of a child to connect and honor the memory of their heavenly children.
Since Sasha’s family is Ukrainian, our 2022 event is raising funds for the children of Ukraine, affected by the horrific war waged on its territory. The race proceeds will be split between the Global Ronald McDonald House Charities and several volunteer groups based in Ukraine and currently providing direct assistance to displaced children and their families.
